Neon Mile

The Neon Mile formed out of the rubble of yesteryears whims and fancies in early 2011, with a need to establish themselves as a new wave of songwriters who have had the strong vision of bringing the ‘song’ back right to the forefront of guitar based pop, defiantly ignoring the landfill xeroxes of many bands of the previous decade. Perhaps a more anglo- american influence has accounted for some of the stylistic directions the band have taken, citing many influences from 60′s pop/garage rock such as Love and Big Star, right through to 80′s New wave/Indie pop such as The Sound, Echo And The Bunnymen and a hint of often quoted influence Prefab Sprout and early 80′s Bowie!

The band’s debut single “Weight In Gold” – out now on digital download, was described by Simon Reynolds of Soundblab as “A decent stab at folk-infested pop.

The Neon Mile are young, bright and bold and offer something of an idea as to what actually might be defined as a ‘supergroup’ for 21st century indie-pop…
